Grocery, Deli or place to grab a picnic lunch on a Sunday

Our cruise is stopping in Fredriksted for the day on Sunday, February 14th. We've rented a car and plan to drive out to Sandy Point since the beach will be open and I've heard it is pristine. Since it is Valentine's Day, I'd love to pick up some things to take as a picnic lunch. Can anyone recommend a grocer or deli in Fredriksted where I could grab some food and/or a bottle of wine? It would have to be open on Sunday's which I've read may be a problem...

Your best bet would be Stop & Shop Supermarket, it's just out of town but it'll have the best deals and selection. I've attached a screenshot of google map directions to help get you there. I hope you enjoy your visit!

Hello GreenGuyJ. My group is on the same cruise as you. We also plan on going to Sandy Point that day. I have been to St. Croix twice before and both times the park was not open. Where did you rent the car from? I was thinking of just getting a cab there. I saw on TripAdvisor that one reviewer did just that. Drake2014, what are your thoughts? Should I rent a car, or try and get a taxi? Thanks!

I always recommend you just stick with the taxi system. Since you're in town less than a day it seems like a lot of hassle to rent a car.
