Sotermarler Posted December 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2015 I've only sailed the GA and Escape and love all the decor and activities. Will I love the Jade next year or be bored? I know it's a smaller older ship, but I'm wondering if I've ruined it by going on the biggest me newest ships.
txagfan Posted December 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2015 I worried about this as well having sailed on the Getaway. We had a great time on the Jade. There are pluses and minuses of each boat, we really enjoyed the shows on the Jade much more than the Getaway for example. Yeah, they were a little hokey, but more fun than a dancing show (Burn the Floor).
Coastalbreezes Posted December 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Great question! Having only sailed the "Away" ships and Escape over the last couple of years, I would miss the Waterfront the most. I love dining or having cocktails out there and it might feel strange to not have that option available on the older ships. Tracy

PyrHeaven Posted December 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 14, 2015 I've wondered about this a few times myself. The last two NCL ships we have been on have been the Epic and Breakaway. I think as long as you don't go into it expecting all the bells and whistles (ropes course, mini golf, waterfront etc.) there is no issue. Personally, I'm looking forward to go back to a more "intimate" experience for a change of pace.
