Private tour of ruins with young children?

We are a family of four- two adults, a 5 year olds and a 1 year old. We would love to see some ruins while in Belize and think that a private tour company would suit us better than a large group ship tour. Does anyone have any experience/recommendations of tour companies that would suit us?

TIA

Which set of Maya ruins did you have in mind? I personally can't see taking any child under 6 and maybe even under 10 to any ruins, but certainly not to Xunantunich or Lamanai. Both are longer treks from Belize City. You may wish to have a gander at Altun Ha, which is fairly close to Belize City. If so, I recommend contacting Reggie at Reggie Tours. Private guide $45 per adult (ask him about toddler rates), but for 4 or more people that can drop to $35 per person. So maybe find another r couple or family on your roll call willing to go with you. Reggie can probably personalize the tour a bit, maybe bring in a stop at the zoo or a city tour as well.

When you're researching Altun Ha, you'll probably discover other private vendors with guided tours. So you can compare a bit.

Thanks so much for all your responses!

Reggie was very helpful and the cheapest, but did not have any child car seats. I have booked with waytogotours as they had reasonable pricing and a car seat. We have chosen to visit Altun Ha as on reflection Lamanai would be too much for our 1 year old.

SIBSIB-- I am almost the same demographic and looking for good things for my 1 y/o. What other ports are you visiting / what did you book? We will be in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan.

My kiddos will be 1 (22 months) and 7, so its hard finding something they can BOTH do/enjoy.

If there is a way to PM, I dont know it. New to this site, sorry!
