navigator questions?

anyone recently off the navigator--any suggestions on when to see the ice show to avoid missing any "good" stage shows? We are sailing Nov 19 eastern--many of our group and have never been on a cruise so want to get to as many things as possible! How was the cruise director? And most importantly, do they still have soft serve ice cream on the promenade?

Hi Lilli, we were on the Navigator begining of September. It was fantastic. You will all love it.

The Ice shows were on Monday and Tuesday. Depends which dinner seating you have to which show you want to see. Monday was 7.45 and 10.30, Tuesday 7.00 and 9.00. A very good and magical show. A definate must see.

Cruise director was Graham Seymour, soooo funny. You have to see his shows.

There is a Ben & Jerrys Ice cream bar at Cafe Promanade, there is a charge for Ice cream here. Make great waffle cones. Free Ice cream is available in the Windjammer and Frozen Yoghurt at the pool.

Wish you a wonderful cruise.

Tessa

Graham-

That's great about the DVD! I will go & check it out. My husband & I are just off the 9-17-05 (Western) sailing and we had a blast listening to you at each performance. I thought I was going to have a heart attack at the Love & Marriage game (remember Fritz?) LOL!!!

It had been 9 years since my husband & I had cruised and this was our 10th anniversary trip (came w/o our kids!) and it truly was the best vacation I've ever had. I loved the filmed 'drink of the day' bit-that was pretty funny! Congrats on your success!

Lilli-have fun on your trip - make sure you check out as many shows/performances as you can while on the Navigator!

Dear Lilli,

When you board find out when the ice tickets will be available. Go right away as they can run out. I was able to pick up enough tickets for everyone in our group of 13. Also, not everyone showed up for the show and there were vacant sets. I'm not sure if they let people without tickets in on the night of the shows after they realize there are seats available. The show is great and one not to miss. Don't miss Graham either. You will have a great time on the NOS. We didn't have one complaint. Depending on where your cabin is if you must go bow to stern it's easier to go to deck 5-the Promenade-and walk from one end to the other. We were on Deck 6 and could just walk down the stairs and be on the Promenade right at the Ixtapa lounge and Promenade Cafe. What a great location. We could also walk the length of our corridor to get to the other end which is the dining room. But, by going through the Promenade you don't miss any activity which might be going on that you forgot. Chops and Portofino are a must but there is a surcharge. Treat yourselves. The information and tapes of shows are on your TV in your stateroom. You will learn a lot from this channel. Also, there is a history of the Voyager class and that is very interesting. Have a great time. Don't lose too much in the Casino.

Do not miss tasting the delicious (and free) cookies at the promenade cafe by the ice cream shop. They are really tasty - and will taste really good with the soft serve ice cream.

Have a wonderful cruise.

We went to see the ice show on the night when there wasn't another show on that evening, which on our Eastern itinerary in January was on Tuesday night. That way there was some time to enjoy the ship itself and you didn't feel like you were rushing to shows before and after dinner that night.

It's sad that there is no longer free ice cream on the Promenade (B&J's was a little too pricey for me) but I made up for it with the yummy pound cake that they had at the PR Cafe:)

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Can Anyone Tell Me Which Nights Are The Formal Nights And Also Which Night Is Lobster Served? My Dh Can't Miss The Lobster. We Cruise 11/12/05. Can't Wait!!!!!!!!

While we were on the Western route, the formal nights were Sunday (at sea day) and then again on Wednesday (Grand Cayman). Wednesday night's dinner was the Chef's Dinner and that was when lobster is served.

That is one of the things we loved about the Navigator!! (And for that matter all the Voyager-class ships!) Sitting down in the cafe relaxing and enjoying some cookies!!
