Popcorn

Well After researching .... No microwaves for popcorn, Then a light bulb went off... Ill just bring my pour over movie butter from the O R popcorn! and Bam! Ill have my movie popcorn while at the seaside movies which I like watching a couple nights on the cruise!:D:D:D

The popcorn tastes like a paper bag. HAL has a machine just like the good old days and it was great!

We bought some of the popcorn flavour salts (butter, hickory bacon, bbq, etc.) and sprinkle them on. They work well.

 

The only thing we found is don't "save" popcorn for later (we would sometimes have a partial bag left and bring it back to the cabin). It doesn't keep well (the popcorn - nothing to do with the flavour salts).

I wouldnt think so as its in small packets, I can pack them in my suitcase just as easy:D:D

Yes I know But its less than desirable.. so bringing Orvals pour over movie butter will help out a great deal:D

On Dream, they put WAY TOO MUCH popcorn in the popper at one time. Maybe 10 times what it is designed to hold. This makes the popping time way to long and the corn very tough.

We LOVED the popcorn on the Breeze! We actually took an extra box back to the room for a snack. It was really good!:D:D

I love the movies under the stars, I have a small bottle of kettle corn seasoning I bring with me, cause yes the popcorn is pretty tasteless.

Princess has their machine right at the movies and it's perfect. When they bring the warm cookies and thick blankets, movie time gets real.

When we sailed on the dream there was no popcorn. Perhaps the machine was broken or something.

Got a couple boxes of Orval redenbachers Pour over movie butter popcorn, Now to just take out the butter packets ad pack them! good for 4 days worth of movies! Ill prolly only watch a couple but good to have a spare! 13 more days!

CCL popcorn is rather tasteless. Wonder why they dont add anything to make it taste better.

CCL uses regular vegetable oil, not popping oil, and don't salt the popcorn at all... you have to look for the shaker.

 

The machines are designed so that the popping oil and flavored salt are dumped in with the kernels, so that they get coated as they pop.

 

Once the kernels pop, they dry out and the salt won't stick.

 

(We own several commercial poppers, so this is first hand experience)
