We bought some of the popcorn flavour salts (butter, hickory bacon, bbq, etc.) and sprinkle them on. They work well.

The only thing we found is don't "save" popcorn for later (we would sometimes have a partial bag left and bring it back to the cabin). It doesn't keep well (the popcorn - nothing to do with the flavour salts).

Would that count against your carry-on beverage limit?

Yes I know But its less than desirable.. so bringing Orvals pour over movie butter will help out a great deal:D

Yes, but it is tasteless. i think they use plain cooking oil to pop it, no flavor at all, and even takes away from the popcorn flavor.

Tastes fine to me. I like air popped.

CCL uses regular vegetable oil, not popping oil, and don't salt the popcorn at all... you have to look for the shaker.

The machines are designed so that the popping oil and flavored salt are dumped in with the kernels, so that they get coated as they pop.

Once the kernels pop, they dry out and the salt won't stick.

(We own several commercial poppers, so this is first hand experience)
