Kathleem27 Posted January 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2016 Hi there, Will be going to Tortola in Febuary on the Summit. I would like to visit Jost Van Dyke as I am a sailor and would like to spend a little time on the water in the BVI's. Would people recommend taking the celebrity excision or booking something on my own? If doing it on my own, any suggestions? Thanks!
blue_water Posted January 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) If the excursion is on a boat from near the cruise pier would recommend that. The other main option is a taxi to West End, ferry to Great Harbor, Jost, and taxi to White Bay. A thord option is a water taxi out of Cane Garden Bay but I don't have contact info for anyone currently providing that service and haven't been able to obtain that. It's easier to coordinate that when staying on Tortola. There was an independent operator, name escapes me and I'm not sure if he is still in n business, perhaps someone else can answer that. [EDIT] Welcome to the cruise critic family by the way! Edited January 8, 2016 by blue_water
pbs14 Posted January 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2016 (edited) Any idea of what a cab from cruise ship pier to the west end would cost? Edited January 8, 2016 by pbs14
blue_water Posted January 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2016 To go on your own you'd taxi to West End, take the New Horizon ferry to Great Harbor, and taxi to White Bay. Taxi to WE ferry is 20 min and $28pp round trip for 2 ppl, $24pp for 3 or more ppl. Ferry is $25pp round trip, and taxi on Jost is $10pp round trip. So total is ~$63 or $59. blue_water Posted January 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Soggy $ is fun but do walk to Seddy's One Love, his card and magic tricks are fun. Ivan's Stress Free Bar is also a good spot, just ask for directions!
