I've read elsewhere that the best tour operators are booked quickly.

How do I determine which are the best?

Anan Creek in Ketchikan

Bears in Juneau (Pack Creek)

Bears in Kodiak

 

Do any of you have opinions or places where you figure this information out?

I've only been to the Alaska.org &Visit Ketchikan type sites...

I contacted on of those from your previous recommendation & one in Ketchikan - It's a bit early for Ketchikan, they can't even get Anan permits until October 2016 for the 2017 season, but he put me on a contact list.:)

I am booked for July with Island Wings to Anan Creek and there is a list on their website of the remaining dates and spaces/permits still available.
