Pineapple Beach w/ Kids Just the Beach

Can you just take a cab to Pineapple Beach and spend the day there without purchasing a day pass at a resort. (ie Is it a public beach?) We have 10 people, 4 adults and 6 kids, 6 to 11, on the Serenenade OTS the week of Thanksgiving and are looking for a beach where we can spend the day. Pineapple Beach sounds great, would like to do some snorkeling and lay in a beach chair. I does sound like you can rent a beach chair????

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!:p

Pineapple beach and Long Bay are interchangable. The truth of it is, that at one end of Long Bay is the Pineapple Beach Resort and the other end is the Long Bay Inn. In the middle is Island Watersports which rents chairs & umbrellas. There is also a beach bar called Barrows with servers burgers, hot dogs and local dishes. The Long Bay Inn also has a dining/bar area on the beach, aptly named "The Beach". Up a flight of stairs (behind Island Watersports), overlooking the beach, is MamaPasta which serves pizza and italian dishes.

Yes, all beaches in Antigua are public.
