Some of my favorites are:

The horn of course

The 3 tones of the PA when the CD is about to make announcements

But my favorite is the "ding" the first time you put your Sail & Sign into the security checkpoint when you first get on the ship.....probably the best sound ever! :)

What am I missing?

We love sitting on our balcony and listening to the beautiful sounds of the sea. So relaxing!

1. Standing on the balcony at night, with the waves barely whispering beneath you.

2. The crashing and thundering of the ocean against the ship in rough seas, down on the lowest open deck,

3. The ringing of the casino as you walk toward it for the first time.

4. "Can I get you a drink, sir."

5. "You can have two appetizers if you like."

6. "five, four, three, two, one..." on NYE.

7. The sound of our cabin door shutting after a long day.

8. Yup.......the toilet flushing.

9. The many different accents of the crew.

10. The wind on the top deck while underway (just like in the movie Titanic!!!).

11. Really good musicians.

The horn, the elevator sounds, and the dinner bell.

I'm sad when Carnival has commercials they use an abbreviated blast.

The captain doing his noon announcement especially when it's all monotone.

The crap dealer saying, winner, winner, front line winner.

The staff who say, hello Jim and Julie.

Any sound of steel drums

The elevator voice telling you what deck you are on

I love this thread! It makes me feel all of those "first day feelings". I also love the sound of the ding welcoming you aboard. I know there are some who don't but I love the sound of the waiters singing (except the goodbye song because that makes me sad). Their singing and dancing always makes me so happy.

The horn and ding are my favorite sounds as well. And the sound of the ocean at night.
