Half Moon Cay Snorkeling Cancelled AGAIN

Just an FYI:

For the second time, our snorkeling excursion at HMC was cancelled. In talking with others, we hear that this almost always happens, and frequent cruisers don't even bother signing up anymore.

Especially frustrating is that you aren't told until you tender ashore and go to the meeting spot.

We were off the ship early enough to get a nice chair on the gorgeous HMC beach, so we still had a nice day. But if we had known, we would have packed a beach bag accordingly.

I was in Half Moon Cay, I believe in April 2102 and a person drowned doing this snorkel excursion. It was very sad, maybe since that awful incident they have become more cautious. Just a thought.

I have done the snorkeling excursion there and a dive as well as snorkeling on my own. Where they take you for the excursion is great, but but if the wind is kicking up, the surface conditions get nasty in a hurry. If they cancel, it is for a good reason.
