Miami Port Parking Questions

Cruising this Sunday on the Getaway, but have never been to the Miami cruise port. Probably will use the main lot, but any advice or other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Only our second cruise, so we are still very green to the best ways to be efficient with unloading at port.

Greetings

The port lots in Miami are located across the main street from the terminals. They are very convenient but are a little pricy at $20 per day. The other parking options in Miami get very mixed reviews.

It's easiest to proceed to the terminal, drop off luggage and passenger then park your car. The main street will be crazy so be careful crossing. There are crossing attendants so try to cross at one of the designated crosswalks. Have your passenger wait for you at a agreed to spot. There will be lots and lots of people, easy to get separated if you don't have a plan.

Good Sailing

Tom

I vote for the port parking garage. It is expensive. But the convenience and security makes it very nice. Both arriving and then departing, quick and easy, no waiting for shuttles. As mentioned, you just walk across the several lanes of traffic and you're ready to check in. If you have a bunch of luggage and don't won't to carry it yourself, you can get a porter to carry it to and from the garage...for a nice tip of course.

Another vote for the port parking garage. We used it twice now and found it very convenient and safe. We paid $140 for the 7 night cruise.

On embarkation day, drop the bags to the porters before parking.

We did not have a problem rolling our bags to the parking lot after the cruise. They also have elevators available so it was easy.
