Red Stripe Beach

Do you have to do a ship tour to get to Red Stripe Beach? We are three weeks out from our cruise and I can't decide where to take our three generation family of 9.

1) Safe

2) Cheap

3) Preferably close to port (Falmouth) because we will have 3 kids under 5 and we aren't sure how long they will last.

4) Shade of some sort, either umbrellas or trees

5) Chairs for rent

My understanding is that you book it online with your cruise line before you cruise, book it when on the ship or pay for it at the port. We wanted a cheap close beach when we are there in Feb on the RCCL Navigator so we have already booked/paid for it. You can do a search on "red stripe beach" on this site and find a lot of information about it. Have a great cruise!!

Yes, Red Stripe Beach you have to book through the cruise line, but thats a good thing because only cruise line passengers are there. Its behind a gated area that looks pretty sketchy when you first pull up but then the beach appears and its really really nice. Yes, shade, sun, chairs for rent, food and drink to buy. Very very nice.

We were just there a couple weeks ago on Oasis and here are few pics

Sketchy when you pull in.

Thanks for sharing your experience and posting these beautiful pictures.

Do you remember how much is was to rent beach chairs and what the average cost of food and drink were?

We are on the Allure in May and trying to decide between Red Stripe and Blue Waters Resort. Wondering if paying the extra for Blue Waters Resort is worth it?

We were just there last week. Chairs, Beer, Wifi, mats are all $5. Not sure about the food.

We were totally thrilled going here. You will not be disappointed.

Our only issue was getting back. We waited 45 minutes for a return bus :(

Everything g else perfect!

Thoughts? Is it really worth paying $90 (2 adults, 2 kids) to go to Red Stripe for the day? Or should we just stay on the ship and play- and maybe check out the port (within the bubble)? We will have already been to the beaches at Cayman and Cozumel. thanks! (tough decisions here )

It is a hard decision. We just took 6 of us there. At first I thought it silly to spend that much but we are all so glad we went. If you really want another beach day this is a really nice spot. No vendors, very safe, everything is new, staff was great! The port area might not be much fun for two children.

We were at Red Strip Beach last week. It's a nice beach for cruise passengers only. The bus to get there is a cramped old Asian bus. Chairs are $5. You pay one place and get tickets to give to the chair attendants. Red Stripe Beer is $5. We ordered 2 from a guy who was taking orders but he never brought them so we got our own. The things we didn't like were that there was a DJ playing loud music and we would have rather listened to the waves. Also, there are no palm trees at the beach (if you are into palm trees).
