CascadeCruiz Posted January 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2016 My husband and I will be in Aruba on February 8, 2016, which according to visitaruba.com is Carnival Mon / Burnout Mon, a National Holiday, day of rest. From 7:00 pm - 11:11 pm in San Nicolas that evening, Carnival comes to an end with the Burning of King Momo. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance for any help! RoperDK Posted January 22, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2016 I'm interested, also. We will be there on that day. Are the festivities around the port area? Thanks for your time, Dawn
Hatteras51 Posted January 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2016 San Nicolas is a ways from the cruise port. You would have to take the bus or a taxi, and be available in the evening. Carnival Monday is a holiday. Expect most everything downtown in the cruise port area to be closed. There may be a few vendors or restaurants open, but not many. Downtown will most likely be dead. We have been in Aruba during Carnival for the past seven years. We've never gone to the burning, and don't know anyone who has. Everyone that I know just stays at their resorts.
