mermaidIamNOT Posted January 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Been on MSC many times and always end up getting the Doremi 10 drink paper coupon soda/milkshake package once onboard. Can we pre pay for the voucher package instead of having it added to our sign an sail card bill if we have already sent in the final payment for the cruise. Sailing on Divina in a few weeks. Praying for no blizzard that week as we're flying down the day of from NYC due to work can't go earlier.

If you add it to your sail and sign account then the value will be added to your on board spend and help get points for the loyalty scheme. If you pre-pay it won't count So why pre-pay? You've obviously got the money so why not leave it in your bank and just use it to pay your final bill by using a credit card linked to you on board account. It's also safer not carrying cash around. Mikesa1721 Posted January 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2016 I thought that all changed with the release of the new Voyagers Club Pete? Each time you cruise with MSC Cruises you’ll earn more points to upgrade your membership level. You can collect points easily, quickly and in multiple ways. The upgrade of your membership level is based on: 1) EXPERIENCE PURCHASED EXPERIENCE Cruise under 6 days - 5 nights Cruises from 6 to 10 days - 5 to 9 nights Cruises of more than 10 days - 9 nights Bella 200 points 500 points 700 points Fantastica 400 points 700 points 1000 points Aurea 600 points 1000 points 1500 points MSC Yacht Club 800 points 1500 points 2000 points 2) PRE-PAID ON BOARD SERVICES: MSC Voyagers Club members will earn 100 points every $150 of pre-paid expenses made before the cruise on MSC packages and services included in the cruise booked*. 3) ONBOARD EXPENSES: You will earn 100 points for every $150 spent on board (excluding casino expenses). You're absolutely correct Mike here is the wording from the T&Cs for the voyages club. b. ON BOARD SERVICES PRE-PAID BEFORE THE CRUISE:MSC Cruises SA offers the possibility of purchasing on board services before the cruise. Services that can be purchased before the cruise include Food & Beverages, Excursions, SPA & Fitness (for a full list of services included please see the dedicated section online) and are divided into services that apply to all cabin occupants and services that apply to individuals only. MSC Voyagers Club members earn 100 points for every €150 spent before the cruise on MSC packages/services included in the cruise booked*. *For currencies other than € euro, the currency conversion on purchase day will apply. They keep changing the T&CS so frequently it's hard to keep up with them Pete Edited January 22, 2016 by Skier52
Mikesa1721 Posted January 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 22, 2016 I wanted to make a few reservations for our cruise onboard Seaside and the reserve function is longer there,,,everything is pre-pay now,,,at least on the USA website,,,I'm not sure if MSC has decided to remove the pay-onboard feature or if this is just because I'm over 2 years out from our sailing? Donsyb Posted January 22, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2016 We were able to buy the coffee package up to 21 days before sailing. However it kept disappearing from the site then coming back
mermaidIamNOT Posted January 22, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted January 22, 2016 Don't really care about getting points towards loyalty programs as we only sail with them one week a year and that is only if the large group we sail with picks MSC. We don't do the spa, don't do the specialty restaurants, don't drink much if any alcohol, don't book our excursions through the ship and we get cheap inside cabins since we aren't in the cabin for very long anyway. I just like having a final sign/sail card bill of as little as possible.
