eurolady Posted January 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2016 We are new to MSC and are trying to figure out if the vouchers for drinks must be purchased prior to the cruise or we can purchase them once on board? We are sailing the Fantasia in Feb. and are from the US....so all the prices we can see right now are in USD, but on the ship we will be billed in Euros. Do we prepay in USD, or is the price added to our shipboard account in Euros later....How does that work? If we can wait, it appears that it would be a much better deal for us in euros, based on the looking at one of the websites for europe. MSC needs better info on their website LOL! AmoMondo Posted January 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Well if you prebook you will pay in USD and before you sail, so,payment in full in advance (they used to let you prebook as an onboard service but no more). You can also buy onboard and will be billed in euros but the service charge will be added to his and this may negate part or all of the exchange rate saving. Gig103 Posted January 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2016 If you pay on board you have to pay the 15% gratuity, but you can also use any OBC that you have earned from a promotion or travel agent. If you have a lot of credit it might be worth paying the 15%. Also make sure your credit card doesn't charge a currency fee for charges in Euros, that could be up to 3% more depending on your bank!
