Question on Casino Rate

I would think you would you only be able to get reductions in prices if you were able to cancel and rebook without penalty. We have never booked ES rate so we never qualified for any price reductions. There were a couple of times that the price did go down and we were able to cancel and rebook at the reduced price. That was before final payment date. Not sure it would work after final payment. Our upcoming cruise next month was book was booked using Casino Rate (booked in August) and the price has not gone lower than the rate we got. We were very happy with the price and did receive some casino credit. If you received casino credits I'm sure you would lose that if you rebooked under a different rate, so that would have to be taken into account when comparing prices.

You can price match until final payment date.

I booked a cruise ES that became a premier. I was able to get the premier rate and all the goodies that came with the offer plus I was able to retain my ES ability to price match until two days.

I should share with you that I always check my premier cruises and have never had a rate go lower. I still check often. It is habit.

It seems that you booked ES first, and then price matched to the premier rate. The original poster seems to have booked the Casino rate only, not ES, so I don't think she's eligible for price drops without canceling and rebooking. It's my understanding that ES is the only rate that is eligible for price matching.

I asked my TA and she said that I was eligible for price drops up until final payment. However, I think I will call Carnival and ask them just to ease my mind. I was hoping that someone who had booked the casino rate and got the price drop would respond.

I have booked the casino rate and have gotten price drops up until final payment without having to cancel and rebook. I just called my PVP and he took care if it in a couple minutes.

As mentioned previously, if you book a new rate you will lose your Casino Cash.

The answer of booking ES, then price match to the casino rate is accurate. You will still get your casino cash. Once ES, always ES. If you booked casino, you would have to cancel and rebook as ES to get ES price matching benefit up to right before sailing.

Yes I did book as cruise ES first and then changed it to premier when announce.

However my first comment was OP would be able to price match a Premier rate until final payment. That is correct and answered their original question.

Also there is no reason to cancel and rebook. IF you cancel your premier rate and rebook under a different rate you forfeit your casino benefits. Those benefits include casino cash between $300-$1000 dollars plus the DOU, party and gifts.

I just booked a cruise with the Casino Rate. Saved almost $125 off of the Early Saver and Past Guest rate. My question is will I be able to still get price drops if the cruise price goes down?

The better approach is to book early saver and then immediately price match to the casino rate, that is as long as you can live with early saver rules. That way you can continue to try to get price drops after date of final payment being due. A PVP can book the early saver and immediately do the price match for you in the same phone call.

I did. I booked casino rate with casino cash as a perk. Soon after, I noticed a price drop and notified my PVP (who had told me to keep my eyes open for any). She cancelled and rebooked (same booking number, etc.) and I received the lower fare and she assures me I will still have the casino cash when I board.

Got a great fare originally, with cash and then got an even better one! I am a very happy girl.:D
