Around mid-May or late-September, which period has less rain and cool temperature between Rome and Barcelona in the past?

Most of the region is similar in climate to Southern California...

May to September should almost always be DRY...No rain, little humidity (although with a lot of the weird weather we've all had of late, who knows?)

July and August are the hottest months...May is cooler than September (September can often be fairly hot, May is usually warm but mild)...

Actually, May/June is probably the optimal time to travel in this part of the world...

Thanks for your insight. I heard in the past, the mid-May period there is usually not as steady as the late-September one too (a bit cooler and more light rain).
