Advice on International Flights home after debarking cruise

We are going to be cruising on the Magic from Orlando in February 2017 and were planning on spending several days at Disney World before our cruise. Question is what do we do when we get off the ship? Are we safe booking a flight home that day or should we plan to fly out the next morning?

We are Canadians so have to deal with International flight regulations that will require us to be at the airport several hours before our flight.

Just got off Disney cruise a couple of weeks ago, and had several hours to burn before our flights. There are lots of things to see at MCO before even going through security. If you end up with a later flight or wish to fly the next day, there is a Hyatt Regency right in the airport. You can also get a day room there.

Thanks that's really good to know so as long as we make sure to book a later return flight then we should be ok. I have never flown in or out of of the US so really wasn't sure how it was all going to work.
