MDR on embarkation ?

Someone asked me if the MDR is open on embarkation, or just the Lido. I told him just the Lido, but after thinking about it, maybe that's not right ? This was for the Freedom.

I don't know about the Fascination, but in November the Breeze mid-ship restaurant was open for lunch the first day. It was either deck 2 or deck 3 right off of the atrium. We had just boarded and a waiter from the restaurant grabbed us and invited us in for lunch. Great way to start the cruise. This is the first time for me that a MDR was open on embarkation day. Limited menu but very relaxing with no chaos. We had a couple of drinks and a Caesar salad with chicken.
