water taxi to las gatas? ixtapa

Has anyone taken a water taxi to las gatas,,?

from the municipal pier? is the pier far from where you get off the ship in Ixtapa? I was reading online that its only like 8$ to take a water taxi there, thats cheaper than a 72/pp excursion

also , do you have to jump off a boat onto the shore or is there a pier in las gatas beach where you can get off?

I did read one post that said she and her family had a hard time getting off the boat at the beach. :-(
