Ck13cruise Posted February 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2016 We have been telling our friends for awhile now how wonderful cruising it. They finally decided to go with us in October 2016 on the Freedom. We will have our children and we are booked on the Lido deck. Our favorite. What I want to know is what are things for them to make sure they do while on ship as well as the ports (Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan). I would like your suggestions so we can put together a list to make as many memories as possible. Thanks again
PAPERBKWRITER Posted February 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Roatan has a nice beach very close to the ship. You didn't say how old the kids are but there is club O2 for teens and Camp Carnival for younger ones but you probably already know that. If you haven't joined the roll call I'd suggest that. Have fun.
whaletaillover Posted February 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Be sure and try the Alchemy Bar,the people there are the best.We were on the Freedom this past Sept. and went to Little French Key in Roatan(not booked thru Carnival)and it is beautiful. We did the $88 pp package which included the meal and 2 drinks and it was worth every penny. For Belize we just shopped around the port and ate at a restaurant recomended by one of the people in one of the shops and loved the food there. For Cozumel we went to Nachi Cocum(again not booked thru Carnival) an all inclusive resort that only allows 100 people per day max .Price $55 pp and the food and drinks are super. This was our 5th time at Nachi Cocum and will probabally be there again when we sail on the Freedom Oct.1,2016. watermelonqueen99 Posted February 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2016 You can't go to Roatan and not ride the magical flying beach chairs. And in Belize make sure to visit the chocolate shop and buy some chocolate. It is delicious and tastes so pure. Just got off the Freedom last month, we had a great time. ArkTraveler82 Posted February 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2016 In Roatan, we rented a cabana through Carnival on the beach right off the cruise ship. It was wonderful to have a spot to call our own. The price tag looks high but the $225 is for 4 people; we split with another couple. They sell out fast though. We went to the Mayan ruins in Belize but as much as I enjoyed the ruins, the bus ride is 4 hours round trip. That's too much of my port time spent sitting in a bus. Have fun on your cruise! ABQrobin Posted February 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2016 Our FAVORITE spot on the Freedom is the Red Frog Pub... it is so nice, and live music every afternoon and evening. It was our favorite chill and relax spot. They had a Country singer last year, Ashby, who was awesome... sort of a cross between Garth Brooks and George Strait. He could do any song requested by anybody rock/country. So good. We checked the FunTimes every day to see where he was playing and the time so we wouldn't miss him. Not from the restaurant but from the guy nearby. If asked i would fight Floyd Mayweather for it!!!! So good.
