_beachgirl_ Posted February 11, 2016 Author #26 Share Posted February 11, 2016 It is not likely you are going to find 'sale' prices for cruises in 2017 for a while. They are still trying to sell loads of cabins for 2016 cruises. To think Zika Virus will influence 2017 prices now doesn't seem probable. Darn it! :p
lamchops Posted February 11, 2016 #27 Share Posted February 11, 2016 Very interesting. I noticed a few people mentioning they would stay away from European cruises right now but I wasn't sure if that was the reason behind it. I hadn't thought about airfare but that certainly does make sense. Glad to see people are still flying. A price drop sure would be nice though. It will definitely be something I'm going to keep an eye on. If I were you I would seriously give Europe a look. flights from Canada are as low as I've seen in years. Air savings are about $200-$500cdn since I've been tracking from 2008. As long as you don't go in the summer, hotel and cruise prices are reasonable. My upcoming 23 day land/cruise trip will cost about 50% more than my 8 day POA cruise. Considering it's "Carnival" in Nice, my downtown "Bestwestern" was booked in Jan. at $120cdn. A $19cdn/pp 2 hr train ride to Savona for a 12 day Ancient Greece cruise booked at $749us/pp. From Vancouver, it would almost cost me that much for a Florida/cruise trip.
