grandmarnnurse Posted February 14, 2016 #126 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Vaping is pretty new and we don't know the long term effects yet. I believe it is better than smoking tobacco by a mile but here is why I don't think it should be allowed in non smoking areas... children. When someone is vaping near me it doesn't bother me, but if my daughter is there I have to explain to her why it's not cool and could be as harmful as smoking. As a tool to quit smoking, it's great. But telling our kids it's harmless and then we have a generation of vaping teenagers finding out that it wasn't as harmless as they thought. You are absolutely correct! Vaping is NOT as harmless as they first thought, and is banned in several places that I know of. I once had a co-worker that tried to do this at her desk, until I told her to please stop. I suppose it is a great tool to assist someone to kick the habit, but it is something that should not be glamorized for our youth.
texast518 Posted February 14, 2016 #127 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Businesses can control smoking, but they cannot control what people spray on their bodies. Pot sniffing dogs exit, how about perfume sniffing? You obviously took my post serious, I was trying to imply you cannot fix his allergy!

berniez Posted February 14, 2016 #130 Share Posted February 14, 2016 So I get it about cigarette and any cacinogenic smoke producing habits. Yeah, keep it to designated areas to cater to those who can't breath properly. By why ban vaping to smoke sections. Vaping , and I mean true vaping with refillable juice tanks hurts no one. I vape in my cube at work and no one ever complains because you can't smell it and vapor, a type of steam, dissapates immediately. I just feel like people complaining about vaping do so because vaping looks like way too much fun and there's always a grouch stepping up, no matter what it is. I fully intend to vape up a storm on my upcoming cruise and if anyone dares approach me you will hear me talking right back atcha. Ps I'm a big girl! You are kidding yourself. I live in a county in NY state that has banned smoking and vaping in all indoor venues, bars, malls, etc. Roswell Park Cancer Institute has just released a study that indicates vaping causes lung damage. So good luck.

As long as you are doing your vaping in a designated smoking area (per Carnival's policy) you should not have any problem or need to talk right back at anyone. Cinnamon2 Posted February 17, 2016 Author #133 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Can't be all that bad if you have sailed 13 times with them;):) Well I guess I just tolerated the casino smoke for many years. I posted this thread to get comments and opinions and hopefully some of the complaints just might get back to Carnival. It would be wonderful if smoking was banned in all indoor public places. Maybe some smokers would have more incentive to quit for their own health. Pardon me but I'm a little sensitive to the smoking issue at this time because my brother-in-law passed away less than a month ago due to lung cancer that was caused by smoking. cfitch Posted February 17, 2016 #134 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Maybe us non-smoking drinkers should start pouring our drinks on the smokers, or forcing our drinks down their throats. Smoking inside the casino is a huge issue for me because ventilation on the ship is not good enough. Even when I stay away from the smoking areas the smell and smoke is sucked in to my cabin by the AC. Smoke outside in smoking areas where that smoke can float away rather than being trapped. I would even be happy if the designated an entire top open deck for this purpose. Hell...make the top deck balconies on one side smoking, just keep it away from me. No need to force it down my throat either. :D
