First time join Royal - ready to pay for everything, even internet !

As regular (Elite Plus) cruisers on X we are taking our first cruise with Royal next week, (Quantum from Shanghai) and it seems no one from Cruise Critic is joining us as we are the only ones on the Roll Call.

 

Have now learnt Rip Cord and Northstar now have a fee.

 

I believe we are Diamond on Royal, but am surprised we have to pay for internet (X gives us 45 minutes free each).

 

I believe the Diamond Lounge will be given over to additional Casino space for the Chinese gamblers (so previous reviews have indicated)

 

Is there anything else I should be weary of ?

On Royal make sure you check the toilet for a meter,it can be costly.:)

We are Diamond and on our last cruise we had 24hr internet free each, to be taken in that 24hrs. I logged on at around 2.p.m and then I had it until 2p.m the next day- not ideal but it felt like 2 days rather than 1!

As for no Diamond lounge, you'll be given 3 drinks vouchers daily on to your Sea Pass to be used in any bar on the ship I believe, or at least that's what we had on our last cruise when the Diamond lounge was packed to the rafters!
