alphawave1 Posted February 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2016 Interested in booking a back to back from Galveston for next year. I am a Diamond member, and wonder if there are any discounts available to snag for these extended cruises. Those of you out there that have done these, can you usually keep your same cabin? Any comments? Elaine

It is certainly more convenient, although not necessary.
Pumbaamd Posted February 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2016 Do your best to find the same cabins. Start looking now. It will be worth the effort. R&D
impatientlywaiting Posted February 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2016 We are on a b2b in the South Pacific this September. We booked the cruise the very day it opened and not only were we able to get the same cabin for both bookings we were able to get aft cabins! dplusd Posted February 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2016 No special discounts for booking a B2B although your Diamond balcony discount will apply to both cruises. We book well ahead so we are usually able to get the same room for both cruises. We have had to change rooms in the past and it was not a bid deal...still nicer to keep the same one. Although there are no special B2B discounts, often times they will provide a nice lunch on turnaround day for consecutive cruisers.
TxKroozer Posted February 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Doing a B2B next Sunday out of Galveston on the Liberty along with plenty of others. We find quite a few people choose back to backs that can afford the time such as being retired like us. It is priced as sepeate cruises and you should snag some OBC for each booking. Process on turnaround day will vary by ship, but they make it painless. The lunch mentions is not always provided. Depends again by ship and number of passengers. On one B2B there were only five of us so logically no lunch was provided. We never have done it, but met others who have, booking the following cruise while on board to stretch their trip to either a B2B or even B2B2B. One day we plan to try that on a whim. smc99 Posted February 18, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2016 We did a B2B on Allure two years ago. We were able to book the same cabin for both weeks, which made it much easier than having to pack and move everything (though they say the Cabin Steward will help you with that.) Even on the B2B you'll have to leave the ship after the first cruise, then re-clear through Customs/Immigration. They took us through all of that as a group, then treated us to a nice lunch at Giovanni's Table.
TonyBuzz Posted February 18, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2016 We have done one B2B on Nav out of Galveston. There were a few of us so MDR lunch was offered. We were told we would have access to our rooms when we boarded but the person guarding the rooms did not get that memo, had to wait until 1pm like everyone else. The photo packages are on a weekly basis. If you find a photo on the first cruise that you like, buy it. They dump all photos at the end of the week so photos from week one will be gone on week two. In Galveston we did have to go off and go through Customs. We did that as a group, last off, first back on.
