Smoking Hotels in NOLA

My parents have volunteered to drive us from Louisville to NOLA prior to our cruise. As a thank you we want to treat them to an evening in the city; however they need a hotel that allows smoking. As we are not smokers I was hoping you all could recommend a decent hotel that allows smoking. Something close to the French Quarter would be preferable.

Early last year New Orleans passed an ordinance banning smoking just about everywhere, including hotels.

 

They can either go outside to smoke or find a room in Jefferson Parish. There are lots of hotels in Metairie, which is about a 25 minute drive away from downtown/French Quarter, a $20 cab ride or a $15 Uber.

Darn...I mean I am excited about the smoking ban personally, but makes it harder to reward my parents with a hotel stay :P
