ShakyBeef Posted February 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) From Carnival: "Ports of Call All alcohol purchased in ports will be stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained items will be available for collection in a designated lounge on the morning of debarkation. A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought onboard as well as Carnival branded bottled water previously purchased onboard. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person." It appears that it is allowed. Enjoy your pop.:) Edited February 17, 2016 by ShakyBeef

BuckeyeMan Posted February 17, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2016 So I can carry a 12pack of pop back on the ship from Nassau or Freeport? No issues there?
ShakyBeef Posted February 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2016 So I can carry a 12pack of pop back on the ship from Nassau or Freeport? No issues there? Nope, no issues any port, any ship. It is stated in Carnival's rules (which I pasted above) that it is allowed.
n6uqqq Posted February 17, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2016 After " watergate " Carnival did stop allowing soda to be brought from ports of call but has since relented after what surely was lots of complaining ;) .
luvs2beachit Posted February 17, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Never had a problem. Also, on our last cruise I had no problem bringing on a container of International Delight Creamer. I was so happy!! I hate the coffee on CCL but the creamer makes it at least palatable.:D
PAPERBKWRITER Posted February 17, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Hi everyone, was just wondering when we get off at different portscan we reboard with cans of pop.Without it being taken away.Tks Just know that if you buy Pepsi or Coke in a different country, they will probably use a different recipe. I won't taste the same.
ShakyBeef Posted February 17, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Just know that if you buy Pepsi or Coke in a different country, they will probably use a different recipe. I won't taste the same. That's a good tip for those that don't know. The soda can taste very different! We have a Bahamian friend who is hooked on American Pepsi and can't stand Bahamian Pepsi. Every time we visit her island (not on cruises), we bring her as much American Pepsi as we can squeeze into our luggage.:p I don't think it's a different recipe that's used, though. I think it's the different water that goes into the recipe.

In this country, we get something else.
ShakyBeef Posted February 17, 2016 #13 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Outside of the country they tend to get real sugar (what's now in the "throwback" / "real sugar" version of many of the sodas). In this country, we get something else. That may be true in some places, but as for the Bahamian Pepsi, which is bottled in Nassau, the last time we compared ingredients labels, American and Bahamian were the same. So we figure it's the water.;) Their water tastes very different from typical "American" water. Chelsea's Choice is a typical brand of Bahamian bottled water, which we drink often when in the Bahamas. Like most (possibly all?) Bahamian water, it is desalinated, filtered, ozonated ocean water. This is most likely the type of water used in Bahamian Pepsi.;) Sorry about going so far off on a slightly off-topic tangent.:o
