Mobility impaired getting to excursions?

Hi - cross posting in the disabled cruisers thread.

A friend and I will shortly be in St. Thomas off the Emerald Princess, and have reserved a ship's excursion to take the tram/skyride, etc. to the top. We've been told we can't use our scooters. Can someone advise as to how far the walk is, once off the ship, to the end of the pier where presumably we'd catch the bus, etc? I realize there are different places where the ship may dock - unfortunately, don't know if we'll be at Crown Bay or...Haversham, was it?
