Royal Regular Retreats to NCL - Feb. 20, 2016 "Live" ESCAPE Review

I would say yes as long as the ship is docked at St. Thomas for a full day like 8-6. The beach was beautiful with no rocks and no shells. There was decent snorkeling there too although I only did it for a few minutes.

I think the better move though would have been to book it thru NCL instead of doing it on our own. That way you are only taking the ferry once each way and not taking a taxi twice each way (along with the ferry each way).

NCL's ferry picks you right up at the end of the pier where the Escape docks. If you do it on your own you have to take a taxi to Red Hook and then take the ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. From there you take a taxi to Trunk Bay Beach.

I'm not sure if it is easy to get to Trunk Bay from where the NCL ferry docks though.

Cinnamon Bay Beach is supposedly very nice as well.

Would you happen to know what the excursion to St John through NCL is called, I can't seem to find it anywhere under St. Thomas.

I don't think I would get the UBP again. Contrary to popular belief, I actually don't drink that much (Doug is shaking his head in disgust right now).

My view of these ships: they set an impressive stage for a vacation. What gets performed on the stage is up to the individual guest.

Case in point - I ran into a guy doing puzzles in the library each day, and I bet his vacation was just as satisfying to him as mine was to me. I would never judge anyone that's living out their ideal vacation. It's easy to spot reviews of people that lack the ability to do so. :)

I think it was called St. John swim and snorkel. I went to the excursion desk to see if there was something for just a beach day. They had something but you were limited to 2 hours and 30 minutes and you had to leave at 8:30am.

Eventually, cooler heads prevailed and they worked out their differences. The ladies in the background were watching me stage this drama the entire time and started googling "Tortola psych wards". I'm not sure why.

What is your overall opinion about Brewers Bay?

I liked it and I would definitely return.

The taxi from the ship to the beach was $8pp. There was no charge to use the beach. Beach chairs cost $5 to rent.

The water was clear and beautiful. I think my favorite part is that it is shallow pretty far out. It takes a while before you can no longer stand with your head above water.

The chairs were a little old and beaten up but the water is nice and the beach was not crowded at all. I want to give Cane Garden Bay a try whenever we return to Tortola but I would have no problem going back to Brewers.

People have asked to go on cruise vacations and i tell them right up front we don't cruise like normal cruisers. my wife owns her own business and every so often i have to get her away. we do absolutely nothing but sit around and watch people. attend a couple Q&A and trivia and Howl at the Moon. your right we all vacation for different reasons.
