Splinter Posted April 24, 2016 #26 Share Posted April 24, 2016 I agree. I travel a lot by myself, and have done both asking others to take my photos (I use a camera, not a smart phone for this) and used the self-timer built into the camera. For the former, I usually look for someone who has a nice camera and often someone who is part of a couple of family, and offer first to take a photo of their group for them with their camera. Then it is an easy segway to asking that person to take my photo with my camera. Using the self-timer, it is just an issue of finding a place to prop up the camera. I have a small Gorilla Pod that works well for attaching my camera to railings, etc. I do make sure to keep my camera close and within sight as I fear in crowded areas it might get stolen. With a digital camera it is easy to take several photos and delete the ones that don't come out or where you did not get yourself framed quite right. emmak8 Posted April 24, 2016 #27 Share Posted April 24, 2016 Very simple solution. SMILE and ask a friendly looking soul to snap your picture. I have done it many times. Easy peasy.
