A Ma'am and 2 Ma'amettes week on the Jade

The other thing that I do, before I leave the ship, is that I set a countdown timer on my phone with the number of hours we are in port. That way, it doesn't matter if I am on ship time, local time, or central time, I only look at the timer to see how much time I have left in port.

There will always be a panicking person next to you who is an hour early, wanting to get back to the ship with 2 hours to spare.

And the partiers will try to tell you that there's PLENTY of time, because they are an hour late.

Keep your own timer, and ignore everyone around you.

Oh, no, it's over :( , not only your cruise, but the review. I've loved living it through your pictures and narrative.

I had a question about the menu you showed from Cagney's. Some items had prices, others didn't. Can you explain? How did it work now that they have a la carte pricing?

So now the closest port to catch an NCL ship from Houston will be New Orleans? Too bad they didn't stay in Houston longer. I wonder what the problem was. It definitely wasn't fog on your return. Sounds like they used it for an excuse though.

Thanks again for the wonderful review!

I just checked and there will be 4 ships (including us) at port in Roatan that day. Have you been the LFK when there were that many ships? I am wondering if it gets too crowded, would it not be as wonderful as you have experienced?

I'd love your candid thoughts on this...

Thank you!

Thank you!

We were there with two Carnival ships and one NCL ship. It was really quiet, and not anywhere near crowded.

Remember... a majority of the Carnival cruisers go to Mahogany Bay by following the line of sheep. Also, many people are panicky about taking a non-ship excursion.

While you may not get to sit on one of the swings at the swim-up bar, (only a few available, and the drinkers camp out there asap) there will still be plenty of idyllic spots to choose from for your part of paradise.

With three ships in port, the entire side of LFK near the animals, changing rooms, and hammocks was completely deserted. All of the people were by the bars, zipline jump, and inlet next to the reef.

We were at 10 or 15% occupancy, at most. The bartenders were pretty bored, and offering to make non-alcoholic monkey lalas for the kids, which is a sure sign that not enough people were around ordering drinks.

Awesome information!!! THANK YOU! I feel better, for sure. The ships in Roatan that day are:

Norwegian Dawn

Norwegian Jade

Liberty Of The Seas

Carnival Glory

I am hoping to get us off the Jade right away and get to LFK right away (we are in a suite, so this looks to be doable.)

Edited to add MudbugsTherapist: I just read your signature closely, and see that we are on the same ship at maybe the same time? We are sailing out of Houston on the 26th....

It sounds like you had a great time.... Thanks.

You are welcome! I try not to let too much time go by on a review. Some folks on here get impatient. It is frustrating to start reading and then be left hanging...

Your review was most awesome! Thank you for answering not only mine, but all of the questions that people asked of you! Each of your adventures sparked more interest and sometimes questions.

1. We have the UDP as well (booked back in April 2015) and...when you were in specialty restaurants, were all of the food items on the menu included in your package? Were the waiters able to explain what was included and what was not?

2. Little French Key: I am interesting in knowing who you booked through and how it all worked. Tendering has me fearful of non NCL excursions...also we have excursion credit to use at each port....just thinking out loud with that. Please share who you booked through and any tips you might have for us.

3. Elevators...were they fast and plentiful? I have a disabled daughter who can manage a couple flights of stairs, but being on the 14th deck, she will need to use elevators for anything on the 10th deck or lower. I am curious if you have any comments on this?

4. Every time you posted a video link, I would get an error when I clicked on it. It would say something along the lines of having to create a YouTube channel? Do you have any idea what I need to do to view your video?

Thank you again! :) For everything!

To answer question #1 - Everything was included. No worries. You may have multiple appetizers, soups, salads, deserts, but just one entree. Le Bistro has some added cost items so just ask what they are. I think they are in a rectangle in the middle of the mene and clearly marked.

#2 - LFK can be SAFELY done with no worries. Just email them. They are also on social media and easy to look up. They will email you instructions to find their drivers once out of the port.

#3 - The only time the elevators were crosded was upon entering the ship after being ashore. Just go down the hallway to another bank of elevators. We never waited long and only once did a lady just HAVE to rush on before we could get off.

#4 - Hmmmmm. My end said that anyone with the linc would be able to view. Didn't it open in another window for you? Not all my videos were from 'there'. It is easy to 'create a channel'. I did it all by myself when my son told me it was hard. If I can do it, ANYONE can. LOL

They are working with their lawyers to her her back. Your guess is as good as mine whether she will be there.

It is over but we have such great memories. I still have my videos on my phone to look at when I eat lunch at my desk sometimes. It is my 'little get away' in the middle of my day. :)

This is the 'Suite Lunch Menu' so I can see why you were confused.

I am thinking that they maybe do that every time fog is predicted. That is a major problem and part of why NCL is leaving Houston I think.

Love you Sis!

I don't think you will find LFK crowded. There are quiet places that were NOT crowded. The bar area can get that way. When we were there in November of '14, we found our own quiet spot where there was NO ONE ELSE and felt like we were on the island by ourselves.

Then again you can go to the area where there is music and bars and be in the hub of the activity. Just pick what you like. :D

My DH and I went to breakfast at our favorite place this morning. Think Cowboy motif complete with real horse and cow folk. We love that place! Which got us talking about what we would be eating in less than 4 weeks. We usually go to breakfast in Cagney's and have for some reason never had breakfast brought to us. Maybe this time...

Breakfast - Mimosa and who knows

Lunch - Pear Pleasure and the swordfish w/o bread

Dinner = Some type of martini and then wine with dinner only Le Bistro one night and the rest Cagney's

See a common thread on the beverages;) Thanks to the UBP promo.

I had never ordered breakfast until this cruise either! It was great. I was surprised that our Butler actually brought it. They brought more than we even asked for.

We have Mimosas every morning with the bubbly in the suite. I tried the Pear Pleasure and it was wonderful! I usually don't like sweet drinks and it was good. Enjoy!

Flying. Since it is Tampa. Originally we were out of Houston but got caught in that whole redeployment of ships situation. The $100 OBC they gave us will go toward airfare. We basically got the same suite, same week, same price with the extra OBC and a 4th port.

So fun! Your Girls are so lucky to have you as mom and mil. I've been sitting and reading this morning trying to let my sore muscles and tired brain recover from my 13 hour shifts this weekend. It been a wonderful diversion, I'm reconsidering our plans after reading about little French key. Thank you!

You did get a good deal. We got caught in that same fiasco. We were sailing out of Tampa Jan. 17. Changed to NOLA, same suite but all they had left was the handicapped one. I took a look at it while we were on the Dawn in October and I don't like it. Hoping they have another open up.

I love my girls! (and my son :D ) They are my life. I lost my husband to ALS when the kids were 6 and 3 so every moment is precious and I love to do things with and for them. I remarried later. I took them on the Star and you can read that review in my signature line. (Star Family cruise).

You should do Little French Key!!! It is amazing!

This is the post I'm referring to: the first menu has prices, and the second one does not. Is the second one a lunch menu?

We enjoyed another sunset from our suite

I had my martini before dinner

We had the best restaurant service this night in Cagney's. Our waiter and another waitress took time to talk with us and we really enjoyed that. Maybe it was because we had such late reservations' date=' 9:00 pm.
