Really Annoyed with NCL

If I didn't have insurance I would not deserve a refund.

But I'm not sure why I don't deserve a refund if I have insurance.

Maybe I should tell the insurance company to donate the proceeds to the "NCL Crew Birth Control" supply.

O.M.G. BAHhahahahahahahaha!

Stephen,

I think you did misread her statement. She said she got refunded those amounts (the taxes), so she is not including those amounts in the insurance claim

Thanks! I was wavering between "the refund not included on the claim", and "not letting the claim know I got a refund".

I think the point crusin6 was alluding to is that there is lots of room for scamming the Insurance company with cfar insurance

The op could have booked this trip the day before embark as she claims the prices dropped indicating an open ship. Fwiw booking the trip IMHO was a knee jerk celebratory reaction to the op finishing chemo so I guess it's understandable...but.....

If op had waited she wouldn't have booked due to flu illness....wouldn't have needed to complain about the FCC....and the insurance...wouldn't be out any money. Based on previous medical and cruise history this op IMHO needs to wait until last minute to book and to boot will probably get a better price anyway

I'm no tree hugger bleeding heart and I know companies rip us off all the time and I can do absolutely nothing about it....but thanks to actions like this op.....money was paid out by the cfar that really didn't need to be

In the scheme of things nobody give a darn....and feels it's expected...they are entitled to it....it was a free perk....yada yada....

Of course if each one of us concerned ourselves with trying to do one little thing better each day....like turning a light off ...driving a little slower....it would make a difference

Waiting to book would have saved the big bad insurance company $$$ and may possible trickle down in some way to benefit someone other than the zillion $$ a year ceo....

Or maybe not.....but it's serious food for thought....and again.....no tree hugger bleeding heart am I......just saying in the situation here money was paid out that really could have be avoided and it doesn't really matter who benefited or who didn't benefit.

And all along I thought booking 2 weeks in advance was "last minute".....:)

You know, I never had the flu before....what were the odds???

As far as price....the day I booked the fare dropped, AND it was the last day for "casino cash". The cruises the weeks before didn't have significant drops the last couple of days...so there was no way I was expecting more drops. The price may have even gone down more...but I stopped looking after I canceled.

Oh...and as far as me scamming....I have a doctors letter...PLUS...since I went 2 times...2 pages of dx, what was done (iv, chest x-ray, flu strip test, lung tests etc).

I really think it's ridiculous that I need to defend my right to collect insurance on something that was insured.

I hope none of you ever need to get radiation, and then want to take a short getaway between the end of radiation and the follow-up....and end up sitting home with the flu. It sucks.

One last thing: I generally charge a few thousand dollars/month on this card...and pay it off BEFORE I get the monthly bill (it's that double cash thing)....so I doubt the credit card/insurance company would think I want to scam them for a big $1500.
