kokopelli-az Posted February 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2016 If I understand this correctly, when tendering ashore to Santorini, the name of the port where you are tendered is called Skala. And this is also where you catch the tram to the top of the hill to Fira. My question: is there anything to do near where you get off the tender or close to the tram? (Meaning not going up to the top of the hill to Fira.)
Rare John Bull Posted February 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2016 There's a small kiosk/bar. And there's a toilet. The jetty is mebbe 50 yards long. Not really enough to keep you amused all day. ;) JB :)
Kinofdc Posted February 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2016 John Bull is right - there is just about sub zero in the Old port in terms of charm or fun. If I were you, I would try to get to Oia asap as you usually only have a few hours in port. For the first time visitor, Oia is the area that most exemplifies the essences of Santorini. Obviously you have other options such as Akrotiri (archaeological interests), vineyards, beaches (black sand, red, white), etc. But those would require a tour, or renting a car or 4x4, ATV Quad.
