mcroadman Posted February 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 29, 2016 So, I like good coffee in the morning. Is the room service coffee good? MDR coffee is the same?? I don't have to have Starbucks,, but I hate cheap cheap stuff. I would make it in my room if they could bring me boiling water! comments on quality please! I am thinking of the nice cup of joe with wake call/room service for 7am on the balcony! Now that is vacationing, right?!

Also, if you are in a JS or better stateroom, you will have a coffee maker.
Jillbus Posted February 29, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I find the room service coffee to be very simply ok. I looked in to trying to bring something to make a nice bold k cup in but the problem is not having the boiling water. You could try ordering the boiling water but I dont know how hot it would be coming to you. We sometimes bring a Starbucks Via packet to put in our coffee. We are not coffee snobs either but still want something to taste good!

kalliekae Posted March 1, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2016 most people find the on board free coffee to range from meh to undrinkable. its okay at best. Agree!! I am not a coffee snob, but the Park Cafe coffee was undrinkable for me. The MDR coffee was at least drinkable, but not by much. I made coffee in our room, but the steward kept forgetting to replenish the coffee packets after the first use. That's one thing I really missed on our last cruise, a good cup of coffee. CarissaLynne Posted March 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2016 I think the quality of coffee is subjective. I feel the opposite of Kalliekae. I think the Park Cafe and Cafe Promenade coffee is better than the dining room and the Windjammer.

Clarea Posted March 1, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 1, 2016 In the words of CC reviewer Yorkvillan "The coffee tastes like battery acid". Any suggestions for lower acidic coffee on a RCI cruse? MDR coffee is usually better. Some have mentioned diluting with hot water.
