jedwards01 Posted March 2, 2016 #51 Share Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) From Tuesdays platter on a princess ship "Deck / Sun Loungers As a courtesy to your fellow guests please be advised that deck/sun loungers must not be reserved/saved and that towel and personal items will be removed by a Princess crew member after a 15 minute period if the lounger has not been occupied." whataboutport Posted March 2, 2016 #52 Share Posted March 2, 2016 15 mins? Wow that's great. Now if they only actually did that. We've cruised on most the major lines. Never had a problem finding a chair. But then again, we look for chairs away from the crowd and noise. One thing I can't stand is overhearing other people's conversations. I don't think 15 minutes is quite fair. I support 30 minutes. On some of the huge ships, it could well take 15 minutes to walk back to one's cabin to use the restroom, get their book/I-reader, sunglasses or whatever. Just walking back and forth can take many 20+ minutes depending where one's cabin is located. Let's be reasonable and fair. Someone could be adverse to using public restrooms in order to avoid Noro etc and it is not unreasonable to return to one's cabin during the day for a brief time. whataboutport Posted March 3, 2016 #54 Share Posted March 3, 2016 But the point isn't the amount of time, it's if it is enforced at all.
sail7seas Posted March 3, 2016 #55 Share Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) True. I wouldn't count on deck boys/girls fighting with their guests about chairs. If they haven't done it by now, don't count on it suddenly becoming the new way things are done on cruise ships. ;) There are lots of rude, selfish, entitled, ignorant people in the world and sometimes you just have the bad luck to find yourself at the same place at the same time as them. Manners are not a high priority for many the way they used to be in years past. Edited March 3, 2016 by sail7seas
moniquet Posted March 3, 2016 #56 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Absolutely. I have seen it on all lines too, from Cunard to Carnival.
