Being local myself, I have found having a neighbor take me works out to be the most cost effective. ;)

 

 

Canaveral is a 2 1/2 hour drive for us. No longer have a local that can drive our car to the ship and pick us up. What's the cheapest parking for a 7 day cruise you've heard about? After all, locals are supposed to be experts, it's part of your job. (I remember when parking for those first cruises in 1984 was free, in a dirt field.

Does your hotel have a shuttle? Many of the area hotels do.
