nrthrngal Posted March 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Hello! I booked the Escape cruise for March 12th today on a bit of whim. This will be my 3rd cruise and I'm so excited however a bit concerned as this will be my first cruise solo. I booked a balcony and was wondering if I will be able to join any of the activities or meet ups that seem to be part of the solo experience when travelling in a studio with access to the lounge? Is there a way to go about trying to get involved with other solo travellers for meals/shows/excursions even though I won't be in the studio section? RJ23986 Posted March 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2016 You can get yourself into the Studio lounge (if you want to ofcourse) Just explain you are travelling alone and they give you access on your keycard. I did this on the Epic.
Coastalbreezes Posted March 3, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Every night (beginning with the first night of your cruise) there is a solo travelers get together. Time/place will be listed in the Freestyle Daily. Have a great cruise, Tracy
tjncanada Posted March 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2016 You can get yourself into the Studio lounge (if you want to ofcourse) Just explain you are travelling alone and they give you access on your keycard. I did this on the Epic. The policy on this is foggy. No harm to ask but how policy is applied can vary. Regardless all solo travellers are welcome to participate in the scheduled activities. Just check the FreestylebDaily and show up at the daily gathering.
Rare KeithJenner Posted March 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2016 I'm not sure how they are doing it now, but on the transatlantic on the Escape, the solo meet up was held at 5 o'clock somewhere rather than the stdio lounge so there was no problem getting access anyway. khaide612 Posted March 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2016 On the Breakaway last week the first meeting was in Maltings so he could bring everyone back to the studio lounge. After that, the door would be propped open at meeting times. Join your roll call!!!
nrthrngal Posted March 4, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted March 4, 2016 Thanks for the info everyone! I actually called today and they said they would not give me access on my key card. That's fine though, I'll look in the freesgyke Daily and meet up with other solo cruisers that way:). Never noticed in the past as I suppose I just wasn't looking for it the other two cruises. On the first night solo gathering, ask the solo coordinator about having your card coded for entry to the solo lounge... I have been solo twice on the Getaway, (in a balcony cabin) and was able to get access with their help... Oftentimes, the customer service reps at NCL have no idea what they're talking about...
