I've been a member of cruise critic for some time, however I just found the cruise critic app. This is great, I can easily read threads when I want. Only one problem... As I am scrolling through the various threads... I am confronted with PORN pics.

 

Is this normal advertising or is there something wrong? I'm happy to have found the app, which I am posting from... However I really don't want to see porn.

i saw that too earlier....totally freaked me out...I was in line in a grocery store and it showed in the list when you scroll to see the threads. I was using tapatalk. I don't see anything on my computer...thank goodness.

Agreed. I couldn't access CC via Tapatalk yesterday at all. It's back to working now. Nice to see it was addressed fairly quickly.

Happened to me too, so I sent an email to the email address listed under the Support section of the app. They sent me this reply:

 

"If it is not too much trouble, is there any way that you might have a moment to delete the app and reinstall it? This should remove the images from your app/phone

 

A bit of background:

The images were posted on our forums and a host did remove them quite quickly. Unfortunately with the way the app communicates between the site and image servers, the images were still viewable on the app for quite some time. We did shut the app down yesterday while we tried to sync up and have the images taken from the app as well. Most people are no longer seeing those horrible images but we do have a small handful of members who are seeing them still. It may have something to do with the way your phone and the app cache the data. Our developers have suggested that deleting and reinstalling the app for those members would be the quickest way to get the images off of their apps.

 

I do apologize for any inconvenience my request causes."

 

I uninstalled the app, rebooted my phone, and then reinstalled the app. It worked and the porn is now gone.

I have used the CC app for several weeks without any problems. Starting yesterday, I can't get any of the forums to load and then I get an error message and the app quits. I wonder if they were hacked and are working on the problem. I deleted the app yesterday so will wait a few days and then try to download it again.

Did you reboot your phone after you deleted the app (before reinstalling it)? I had to do that to get it to go away. Just uninstalling and reinstalling alone didn't work. You need to reboot in-between.

Lol it's the tapatalk app.

 

So i deleted mine rebooted and reinstalled and now what once was just photos is now animated! Wth! It made it worse!

I know many use the tapatalk app, but I really didn't like that one. I like the actual Cruise Critic branded app. I cannot speak for Android, but I downloaded mine in the Apple App store.

 

I deleted and reinstalled, and it is still there. Oh well, I guess at some point it will be removed... until then, I can just scroll past them.

Good to know the issue was addressed quickly. I also sent an e-mail but I did not receive a response.

Yesterday I was not able to open anything without the porn showing up, then I didn't want to open anything and risk that again.

Today it's all good.
