Carnival Magic Cabin above main theatre?

 Share

Recommended Posts

We are looking at cabins on Carnival magic and are currently being offered 6214 or 6215. (We've also been offered aft cabin on deck 9 but I've ruled that out as under pool area!)

Do any of you have experience of cabin above theatre and if so how bad was noise? We have an 8 year old and 12 year old.

Any comments much appreciated.

Thank you.

You will defiantly hear noise from the theater. We had a cabin on deck 7 once above the theater once. you could hear the bass beat every night during the show and in the afternoon during rehearsals. I would avoid.

We had to book similar cabins on the Breeze. We recently found out my daughter will be doing clinical rotations at the hospital this summer for college and can't go on vacation then. So we had to change our vacation plans to spring break instead. It was only a couple months out and all the good cabins were booked. I had to choose deck 6 and I didn't want over the casino or night clubs because they would be very loud all night long. So we chose the cabin over the main theater. The last show is over around 11-11:30 pm (can't remember the specific time) but that's fine with me. I refuse to go to bed before midnight on vacation lol. :) And I'm not usually in my cabin during their afternoon rehearsals, there's just so much to do and see on the ship. So I think it will work for us. But we will find out soon. Our cruise heads out next Saturday. :D I'll definitely do a review too.

I don't think those are over the theater. It looks to me like they're over the backstage part of the theater, which is even better. Like has been said, shows are over by 11:30, then it's totally empty all night long. Backstage will be even quieter than the theater during shows & afternoon rehearsals. I have stayed below backstage (staying on deck 2) many times, and I don't hear much of anything. One time, I could hear a singer warming up her voice. It sounded like she was right above my room. That was for a few minutes, shortly before the show started.

Deck 6 is directly above the deck 5 lanai on this ship. The lanai sticks out from the ship & circles the whole ship, so all balconies are just a few feet up from this public deck, where people can see onto your balcony quite easily. However, being as far forward as these rooms are, the lanai is much skinnier there, and people are typically just passing by that area & not hanging out there. For me, because of the lanai, it's either a cove balcony or an OV/inside on Dream class ships.

The aft deck below the pool should not be a problem. Typically quiet at night as pool area becomes a ghost town. I had a similar room aft on Splendor and was completely quiet at night.
