FSUNole Posted March 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2016 Is there a typical number of days before departure that they call? That is, if they call.
RadioRob Posted March 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2016 There is nothing formal from what I understand. It could be anytime after final payment I would expect. It all depends on how well the ship is filling up, if there any specific categories selling vs another, etc. (They might offer more upgrades to JS for example if they feel they can make more selling a balcony.) KreiderCarter Posted March 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2016 We got the upsell call 3 days before our last cruise on the allure. We went from a balcony room to the aqua suite for only $1050 more.

FSUNole Posted March 8, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted March 8, 2016 We got the upsell call 3 days before our last cruise on the allure. We went from a balcony room to the aqua suite for only $1050 more. Wow! You would think they would have found someone in a higher category to upgrade... KreiderCarter Posted March 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2016 FSUNole I would think so as well, but I just gave them the money and enjoyed it. Also crazy to give a suite that can sleep 8 to us, just 2 people.
Ivana Cruise Posted March 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) I was called 4 days prior. Upgraded from oceanview to balcony for $400. They started higher but came down in price when I asked if thats the best price they could offer. Edited March 8, 2016 by Ivana Cruise
cruisin4kicks Posted March 8, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) We got an upsell call (1st time ever) about a week before we were to cruise on the Allure. We had an oceanview balcony and they asked us if we were willing to upgrade us to a JS for $400pp. If Royal would have offered us an aqua suite upgrade for $1,050 total more, we probably would have taken it. But $800 more for a JS, we passed on that. Tim Edited March 8, 2016 by cruisin4kicks
