if they did I didn't notice... What is it?!?! lol

It's usually listed in the Daily. It a tasting where you pay $15, maybe now $18 pp, and you get a variety of martinis and a little history of where they came from. It's quite a good time with the right group of people. If you still have your Dailies, can you check and see? It is normally a sea day around 4 PM. I know may sailing on the Breakaway had it last year but someone said they are not sure they still do them with the IBP in play now.

I think they are still available but you can't get them in the UBP.

Got back off the Epic on Sunday, Alot of what I have to say about it is already written on here so not going to do a long review but feel free to ask me anything and hopefully can answer...

I loved the cruise, all 10 of us did, felt like we were treated like royalty.. cabin cleaned twice a day, drinks practically poured down our necks, amazing food, great entertainment, all staff seemed happy and couldn't do enough for us, the ship is massive but very clean and well run in my opinion!

I go on holiday alot and have always said, you get what you pay for! Not true this time, felt like we had paid 3 times the amount to get what we got, Well done NCL/Epic!!!!!

Hiya, welcome back, glad you enjoyed your cruise :D

Can I ask how you found the weather at this time of year? Would love to try the canaries route but I'd be worried about the weather.

we used a credit card, they add it to your account when you check in and you can check what is on the bill on your tv in your room, any queries and you go to credit services to resolve it (my friends had a $20 charge from o'sheehan's for chardonnay that they have not got a clue why it was charged but they removed it happily)

Then on the last night they leave a paper copy of the final bill in your room, you dont have to do anything to pay, it is taken automatically.

I think you can go settle the final bill in cash on the last evening and if you leave a debit card on the account at the start of the cruise they take a certain amount out to check it is a fluid account, it is then returned about 4 weeks later.

My favourite place for breakfast was the garden cafe, buffet, deck 15. An amazing choice, cannot see anyone not finding what they like (also you get real english bacon up there that you dont get anywhere else on the ship!!!) was great up there for a big party, first one in got a table and the rest of us just came and went!

you can go to o'sheehans from 5am and order a full english/omelette etc and the other restaurants do breakfasts to order, there really is too much choice lol

Thank you for your reply.I am looking forward to the bacon 😉

Hi we were also on this cruise, our first time on NCL.

We were very impressed with the food the drink service and the entertainment was the best we have had on any cruise.

To answer your question the only slight negative for us was the weather, we had really expected in to be a lot better than it was, it is the first time I have been on a cruise and not swam at all in fact I only put my swim suit on one afternoon to sunbathe for a few hours. I think we probably had three warm sunny days and the rest of the time was chilly.

This weather did affect the crowding on the ship. Where you were able to book shows it works really well,

Any feedback on ports or excursions ? ...was spice H2O crowded. Thanks!::)

We got off at every port but didn't do any excursions.. Morocco was a quick walk up into town, I think it was Lanzarote that had a $15 return shuttle into town, there was a free port shuttle in Madeira, a five euro return port shuttle in Malaga.

Only once sat outback at spice and that was when we got back onboard in Madeira, was crowded but 6 of us soon got a table for sail away, I had a wuick dip in the pool.. then the second we came through out of port it was like a tornado hit lol, towels, drinks, chairs, even the massive sun umbrella's started flying... so everyone made a quick exit!

Glad you enjoyed it.

Did you find any quiet corners inside to sit and relax

shakers bar and maltings bar on deck 7 don't open til midday so very quiet and lots of comfy chairs there, even when they open through the afternoon they are quite quiet, lots of people reading and snoozing, many snoozing lol.

If its not too windy, up on deck 15 down the side of the arcade, behind where the aft lifts are port side, there are rows of comfy settee's out of the way.

Also down in the atrium area, deck 5

So glad to hear you had a great time! We sail in July, a different itinerary. So, my questions are about the ship itself. Is it easy to find your way around...I know the ship is large, but does it flow? How bad is the smoke smell from the casino in surrounding areas? and lastly, where did you find to have the best coffee?

Thanks for the Q&A:)

You soon figure out where you are going, you are given a map when you board and when you go for a lift, every floor is listed and whats on it, did end up in the wrong place a few times but my fault, not the boats! lol

Does it flow? I'd say yes, Most things you want are together, deck 5, 6 and 7 are where most things are at, can easily spend all day just going between those 3.

I am a smoker so to me it wasnt a problem lol but I was with 9 others who don't smoke and they said they didn't notice it really... Yes you can smoke but its not smoking all over, you can smoke in a little alcove of fruit machines starboard side and you can smoke if you are playing on the main tables, it's not just a free for all, you cant just light up anywhere in the casino.

I don't drink coffe but a few of my friends are coffee (latte) lovers... the free stuff they didn't like so a few times they went to the atrium, deck 5 for a latte, was only a few dollars I think and you got a slab of cake (quite a big bit) free with it, they said it was nice, well they ent back again so must have been!

You must go to howl at the moon, I had never heard of it and it was amazing so I won't spoil it by trying to explain what it is other than to say if you want them to play a request for you wrap your request in a $ bill.

Liverpool Jo

We went to howl at the moon first night, was brilliant from what I can remember of it... anyone who was there that first night will know who I was, I was recognised around the ship by a lot of people after that night! It wasn't my fault, It was the vodka! ;-)

We purposely held out for a canaries itinerary over the the med so we would get the better weather this time of year.. We were wrong! lol. The canaries have just had an amazing Nov, Dec and Jan (we were in Lanzarote in Jan for a week and had the best weather, aparently the hottest jan in 50 years) so i guess it was bound to break!

Its was hot in Barcelona and hot the next day if you were out of the wind, bit dull and rainy around the canaries but Madeira and Malaga was lovely.. I am aredhead who burns easily so was quite happy lol

Hi,

Can you remember what the latest disembark time was when you returned to Barcelona?

Thanks

I didn't notice the latest time, I have it in my head as 10am but don't quote me on it! one of our group went to get the labels for our luggage and came back with a sheet which told you which time each colour disembarked, the latest time/colour was 0915/lavender.. We did lime/0900 after a long debate between the 10 of us in o'sheehans the night before!!!

Thanks,

We have a late flight, so was wondering how long we could loiter on board for.

Did you get much hassle when you walked into tangier?

walking up into town we got the hassle we were expecting, buy this, buy that etc, when were walking back down, as we came out to the main road the same people were getting alot more insistant, to the point of swearing at us, they knew their last chance to sell to us had gone.

Just keep on walking and saying no!

Thanks for the useful info, sounds like it would be best not to go in with my daughter if they get verbally abusive.

I wouldn't give up a cultural opportunity due to some potential loud mouths. Use it as a teaching moment. Explain to your daughter what may happen, why they may do so and that their behavior is wrong. You'll be building a more confident young woman.
