The Thalassotherapy Pool, covered by a glass dome, features water jets that massage your body as it soaks in ionized water at a temperature of 91°F (33°C). Thalasso is Greek for 'of the sea' and these pools have a special formulation ocean water rich with trace elements and vitamins. Gently heated to body temperature, the pool alleviates arthritic pain, soothes sore muscles and offers relief for sport injuries. The pool has a series of hydro-jets specifically designed to work on a specific area of the body. You can relax on wide, ergonomic benches made of metal piping that are built into the side of the pool and float in the warm water. Thermal Suites Ships: Carnival Breeze / Carnival Dream / Carnival Magic / Carnival Splendor / Carnival Sunshine / Carnival Vista Note: For those guests who do not purchase a spa stateroom or suite, a fee applies. An elaborate and exclusive Thermal Suite, which offers intensive relaxation and a new sensory experience provided through individually, designed heat therapy chambers to cleanse, tone and purify the body, using dry and wet heat chambers. The thermal suite is an exclusive facility within the spa offering different areas for specific therapeutic needs. The benefits of the different areas are described below. The Tepidariumis a rest zone comprising ergonomically shaped heated loungers that offer the benefits of radiant heat. The pleasant room climate offers numerous benefits to health. The length of time spent in a Tepidarium is not limited; the revitalizing and comforting effect can be enjoyed for hours. Ambient temperatures around 100.4°F (38°C). Steam Chamber: Oriental Steam Bath Ships: Carnival Breeze / Carnival Dream / Carnival Magic / Carnival Splendor / Carnival Sunshine Note: For those guests who do not purchase a spa stateroom or suite, a fee applies. Oriental Steam Bath is typically referred to as a large steam chamber called the Caldarium. The high humidity provides an extremely relaxing climate. The respiratory tract is cleansed, circulation stimulated, muscle tension relaxed, the skin becomes pliant and supple. The ideal duration of stay in the steam bath is 10 to 15 minutes. Using a Caldarium also has a purifying effect on the whole body. Temperature: 104-112°F (40-50°C). Steam Chamber: Aroma Steam/Aromatic Grotto Ships: Carnival Breeze / Carnival Dream / Carnival Magic / Carnival Splendor / Carnival Sunshine / Carnival Vista Note: For those guests who do not purchase a spa stateroom or suite, a fee applies. Typically referred to as a small intimate chamber, the high humidity and radiant heat creates a moist, warm climate that gently but thoroughly cleanses the skin and respiratory tract with herbal steam (sweet odors such as cinnamon, orange or apple) can additionally support the cleaning effect.
