teacher_md Posted March 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2016 We will be in Port Canaveral from 1pm to 9pm in about 3 weeks. I am interested in doing an airboat excursion. We would like to get off the ship, do the excursion and return - nothing fancy. Anyone have recommendations on how we should do it? Should be uber, cab it, or book the cruise line excursion? Which airboat company can you recommend? Last time we visited the NASA space center and enjoyed it. Thank you! -aj Airboat rides – There are several but most shore excursions go to Midway - http://www.airboatridesatmidway.com/ or Lone Cabbage - http://www.twisterairboatrides.com/ . To get away from the crowds, try Grasshopper -http://www.airboatecotours.com/ , Old Fashioned Airboat Rides - http://airboatrides.com or Switchgrass -http://switchgrassoutfitters.com
Capt_BJ Posted March 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2016 http://www.airboatridesatmidway.com/directions.html I'd rent a car but the site has recommended transport suppliers

Capt_BJ Posted March 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2016 this one is a bit less known and accordingly a bit less $$ (or a longer trip for same $$) http://www.bullgatorairboattours.com/index.html location wise this is a lil farther away than the zoo this place and Midway are about 20 miles (straight line) from the port ... and Lone Cabbage/Twister is about 16 . . . teacher_md Posted March 13, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Thanks for your help, everyone! What's the procedure for renting a car in Port Canaveral. Thanks, AJ
Capt_BJ Posted March 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) your choices and their approx locations: NOR BKWY has been using T-1 lately so you could walk to Payless or Alamo/National/Enterprise but ALL the choices run shuttles to the pier - WHEN OPEN - and most close around 6. So, if you want to return after this time you CAN just drop the keys in the drop box (you pay for 24 hours anyway) and either use one that's walkable or call a taxi to meet you. (321) 868-8888 is one . . . Edited March 13, 2016 by Capt_BJ
