This thread went dead quick.

It is still raining but water is going down or being managed.

 

I will say I am impressed mostly with how this horrible situation has been handled.

 

I have relatives who have never had a puddle in their yard now with 4 feet of water in their house.

I know a lot of people traveling towards NOLA like to stop at Duck Commander in West Monroe, probably not the best time if it was on your radar.

 

Our city has a lot of flooding and road closures that make it complicated for locals to get around...nearly impossible for visitors.

 

Be careful whichever way you choose.

Here in the New Orleans area we have only had 2 inches of rain so far this month which is almost a drought for us because we are so used to rain.

 

It didn't even rain today as they predicted and tomorrow there is a zero percent chance of rain with a high of 81 degrees. All the main highways around New Orleans are open even though there is flooding in the suburbs across the lake.

Sorry I'm late to the party. However, I do know there's still parts of I-49 just south of Shreveport that's still closed. However, the detour is fairly easy.

 

Still worried about my daughter. She lives in Bossier City. So far, flooded streets, but water hadn't reached the house. Water has receded; however there is a chance the river close by may overflow its banks.
