vacationcruiser05 Posted March 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2016 My husband and I will be cruising with Carnival for the fourth time this summer. We are wanting to take our kids on their first cruise next summer. We have narrowed it down to the Dream from New Orleans going to Montego Bay, Cozumel, and Grand Caymen or the Magic out of Port Canaveral going to Grand Turk, Aruba, and Curacao. Our kids will be 8 and 4. Just wondering which itinerary would be best for kids this age? We tend to just like to go to a nice beach or maybe a tour and beach. My husband wants to go on the Dream because the port is a closer drive. We've never done a Southern Caribbean cruise so I'm leaning towards that. The cruises cost the same and the Southern Caribbean is one extra day.

crooooze Posted March 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 13, 2016 On the other hand an 8 and 4 year old would absolutely love the Turtle Farm at Grand Cayman

DebbieMo Posted March 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) Southern Caribbean [emoji818]️, extra day [emoji818]️ Don't know the ports first hand but I have 4 kids 6-12 and this is the one I'd choose. Frank12 Posted March 13, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2016 For the kids, I would do the Dream. Stingray City and the turtle farm in Grand Cayman are a must
vacationcruiser05 Posted March 13, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Thanks everyone! I think we would have fun either way. I was leaning toward Southern Caribbean because we've never been to Aruba or Curacao. I just wanted to see other opinions on which would be better with kids. OCruisers Posted March 14, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Magic would be our choice with or without kids. :)
arkiesgirl Posted March 14, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Chakanaab Park with kids would be great...swim,dolphins,etc. I agree that they would like the Turtle Farm. Stingray City might be a bit adventurous with a 4 year old.
RHilla619 Posted March 14, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Magic is probably the better ship, and I like it's southern Caribbean itinerary much better. Might be a longer drive for you guys, but the extra day aboard (for the same price) should make it worth it IMO.

vacationcruiser05 Posted March 15, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Thanks everyone! Once we get everything finalized for our upcoming cruise, we can plan the next one. My husband and I will be on the Magic this summer. We will have a chance see all of the activities on the ship for kids.
