Beware of Buenos Aires

Because Buenos Aires is a working port you can not get near the ship on your own. You check in at a passenger terminal. Long long walks, no wheel chairs. Once you check in and clear security there is a walk to the port run busses that take you from the cruise terminal to the ship. The buses cannot kneel and the step up to the bus can be very high. They tend to load the busses very full, sardine like. At the ship the gangway may be very steep.

Thank you for this information. Do you know if they have any busses with wheelchair lifts? I see by your list of cruises that you are on, or have gone on, a cruise around South America. We are scheduled to go on one next January and I would be very interested in your impressions.

I am not sure about wheelchair ramps. The buses from the ship to the terminal were old. While they had spaces for wheelchairs once on board, I never saw them put one out even though a number of us were having trouble getting on.

The city buses were even taller. sigh

The cruise itself was great. Glaciers, penguins, seals birds. Great trip!
