For a solo traveler on the Oosterdam, what is better for an inside category L, the sideways or regular configuration? I know they are small, but i can get a great price for my daughter who might join us on a cruise. We have a balcony cabin.

I don't see where it matters, really. Both are tiny.

Have her consider separating the beds (yes, it's a shame to pay for two beds, and use only one ;)) as it will feel roomier, and she will have room to walk along the side of the bed. There will be room for her feet & legs when she sits there.

I don't care for the sideways cabins. When entering the cabin you have the foot of the bed on one side and a small table and chair on the other. It seemed cramped.

Sleeping at night I had the side of the bed that was close to the outside corridor wall and it got noisy. People returning late at night and standing outside their cabin opposite from us talking woke us up more than once. Extremely annoying!
