douginct Posted March 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Soon to cruise Regent for the first time. For chips in the casino, do I need to bring cash with me or can chips be charged to my cabin account? I assume another option might be an ATM - is there one on board? Thanks. DaveFr Posted March 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Doug, There are several ways to get cash for the casino. Obviously, you can bring cash with you. You may also get cash from the casino but I believe there is a 5% fee. Although little known, there is a third option. Each person is entitled to get up to $400 cash from the Purser (Reception Desk) each cruise. There is no fee and the cash advance goes on your shipboard account like a purchase. Your credit card sees this as a purchase and not a cash advance. Finally, you can purchase refundable shipboard credit via the gift order form on the Regent website. When you want cash for the casino, just go to the reception desk and they will give you the amount of refundable shipboard credit you want in cash. Again, when you purchase shipboard credit prior to your cruise, your credit card will see the purchase as a purchase and not as a cash advance. Hope this helps. Travelcat2 Posted March 16, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 16, 2016 There are no ATM's on board Regent (probably because they would rarely - if ever be used). The casino on Regent (and other luxury ships) is small and not used that often. Keep in mind that the casino must be closed whenever the ship is in port. On port intensive itineraries, by the time you finish dinner and maybe see the show, it is late and most passengers are resting up for the early morning excursion the next day! MTnesters2014 Posted March 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2016 you may want to check table limits also...I know there's a $10 limit on the roulette table for straight bets so max payout is $350.
golfguyhhi Posted March 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 22, 2016 Not exactly a casino question, but was wondering if RSSC ships offer Bingo? Oceania ships do, and they had a Sno-ball accumulating prize which one man won on the final day of the cruise - $4,200 -- which he collected in cash and then placed as a down payment on his next cruise. My BW would like to play a few times and we haven't seen any mention of it anywhere.
Travelcat2 Posted March 22, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2016 Yes - most Bingo games begin after Trivia -- around 5:00 p.m. Not sure if they are offered every day but they typically are during sea days.
DaveFr Posted March 22, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 22, 2016 Playing bingo is also a way to use up excess shipboard credits. Hope this helps.
