Expat Cruise Posted March 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2016 You should have one formal night which will include the time you can have pictures with the captain. But you have other options that night if you want.
cruisingsince94 Posted March 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2016 You will have a formal night. It's going to be on your first full sea day.
Lumpyguy1 Posted March 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 19, 2016 There won't be a formal night. If you want to dress formally, you eat in the grande restaurant . These ships have been specifically to stop formal nights all together . What an awful shame.

Lumpyguy1 Posted March 19, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 19, 2016 I'm going on ovation on April the 14th ...... The inaugural, and there is no formal on any of their future cruises either. As I said, an awful shame .......
cruisenuts4life Posted March 19, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted March 19, 2016 I do like the formal nights, are they stopping it on all newer ships? What does dynamic dining mean?
Lumpyguy1 Posted March 19, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 19, 2016 Dynamic dining is where you have to book all your own restaurants either on board or beforehand on your cruise planner. I always opt for dynamic classic. It's sort of like MDR stuff. So there's classic 1 and classic 2 ...... 1 is early sitting, 2 is late. You rotate between the 4 restaurants with the same waiting staff and table mates. The 4 venues are ..... the grande, chic, American icon and silk.
