mausie777 Posted March 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Hello, we will be staying in London for 5 days this June, were thinking of purchasing a 3 day London Pass with the Oyster card, not sure is we need the Oyster card with the pass, since the Hop on, Hop off bus is included for 1 day and can be extended for 48 hrs....We will be staying close to the Waterloo station...Any advise appreciated - Thanks
fishywood Posted March 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 21, 2016 The HoHo bus is great for an overview but not to use for transportation: getting from your hotel to attractions to the west (Harrod's, Kensington Palace, Madame Tussaud's) via the city streets rather than the tube will waste a huge amount of time. But if you don't anticipate steady use of the tube it may be more economical to secure your own Oyster and do pay-as-you-go. Of course this means you would have to have the cash handy whenever you needed to top off. So having the cost of three one-day Travelcards added to the London Pass (which is a great value on its own) will conveniently allow you to head anywhere near the tube on a moment's decision though you may not use the full value each day.
